Marcy Kaptur announced her support for bipartisan legislation (H.R. 5740/S.22) to offer the 1.7 million brave men and women who have served in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan educational benefits, on par with those provided to veterans of the World War II era. The legislation will give our returning troops the tools to succeed after military service, make military service more attractive as we work to rebuild our military, and strengthen our sagging economy.
 
April 10, 2008: Kaptur Heralds Homeland Security’s Relaxation of Requirements for Charter Boats

Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur welcomed the decision by the Department of Homeland Security to ease proposed travel restrictions on Lake Erie as “a step forward for national security and for our regional economy.” The decision followed Kaptur’s expression of concern to the department about a potential impact on Lake Erie charter boats.
